Third Party Voter Registration

In recent years, third-party voter registration organizations and individuals have become increasingly active in reaching out to citizens in our communities to register them to vote.

Florida law defines a third-party registration organization as "any person, entity, or organization soliciting or collecting voter registration applications" with the exception of:
  • A person who seeks only to register to vote or collect voter registration applications from his/her spouse, child, or parent.
  • A person engaged in registering to vote or collecting voter registration applications as an employee or agent of the Florida Division of Elections, Supervisor of Elections, Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles, or a voter registration agency.

If you are an individual or organization planning to conduct a voter registration drive, it is important that you understand the laws involving voter registration.

Dates to Remember

  • Canvassing Board Meeting
    February 10, 2012 @ 3:30 PM
    The Canvassing Board will meet for Certification of the Official Results and the Conduct of Election beginning at 3:30PM  at the Supervisor of Elections' Office located at 2509 E. Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway, Kissimmee, FL 34744.

  • Book Closing for Primary Election
    July 16, 2012 @ 5:00 PM
    The voter registration books will close on July 16, 2012 for the Primary Election. The Book Closing Date is the statewide deadline to register to vote, or change your political party for any election if you are already registered. For first time voters in Florida, a completed voter registration application must be in the Supervisor of Elections' office, or postmarked, by the book closing date. If you have relocated to a new address within Florida, you must register that address with the Supervisor of Elections' office as soon as possible.
  • Primary Election
    August 14, 2012 @ 7:00 PM
    Polls will be open from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM.  If you are unsure of where you vote, enter your address in our precinct finder. 
  • Labor Day
    September 03, 2012 @ 5:00 PM
    Holiday - Office will be closed.
  • Book Closing for General Election
    October 08, 2012 @ 5:00 PM
    The voter registration books will close on October 8, 2012 for the General Election.
